Objectives

1. Prepare well thought questions for the interview. Questions that discuss topics of the students culture, personal experiences, studies and much more.
2. Study and research about the culture and lifestyle of the student I will be interviewing.
3. Find an appropriate meeting time and location to meet with my interviewee.
4. Bring necessary materials needed for the interview; Paper, pen, recorder...
5. Begin our meeting with an open and friendly introduction.
6. Make the Interviewee feel as comfortable as possible, begin with simple easy to answer questions.
7. Speak slowly and listen well for it may be difficult to understand the student.
8. Let he/she know how I would respond to the questions so he/she can learn about my culture as well.
9. Do not just limit the conversation to the questions written down, expand on the conversation, can go off topic a little.
10. Create a relationship with the student, we could maybe exchange e-mails or numbers for future contact with one another.
11. Write up a paper summarizing my interview, include answers to questions in detailed form.

1. Where are you from?
2. What do you think of life in america; is it a lot different than in your country?
3. What do you enjoy most about America and what do you most dislike?
4. What are you going to school for?
5. What are your plans after you graduate? Will you stay in Minnesota?
6. Have you been back home since you've been here? If not do you miss home?
7. Is America/Minnesota what you thought it would be like?
8. Have you made more friends from American culture or from cultures like your own?
9. Have you been through any hardships since you've been here? such as money, communicating or schooling?
10. How does your culture compare to that of American culture? Relationships, Religion, Government..?
