1. Prepare well thought questions for the interview. Questions that discuss topics of the students culture, personal experiences, studies and much more.
2. Study and research about the culture and lifestyle of the student I will be interviewing.
3. Find an appropriate meeting time and location to meet with my interviewee.
4. Bring necessary materials needed for the interview; Paper, pen, recorder...
5. Begin our meeting with an open and friendly introduction.
6. Make the Interviewee feel as comfortable as possible, begin with simple easy to answer questions.
7. Speak slowly and listen well for it may be difficult to understand the student.
8. Let he/she know how I would respond to the questions so he/she can learn about my culture as well.
9. Do not just limit the conversation to the questions written down, expand on the conversation, can go off topic a little.
10. Create a relationship with the student, we could maybe exchange e-mails or numbers for future contact with one another.
11. Write up a paper summarizing my interview, include answers to questions in detailed form.
Your on the right path, i really like your first objective. Your first objective will be key in getting the most information out of your interview.
ReplyDeleteGreat objectives. Maybe you could rephrase the first. No. 7 is slowly, correct that too, if you get a chance. No. ten is not an objective at this point, or will this be your very "first" friend?
ReplyDeletecheers

I really like your objectives, especially that you will want to make it as an open conversation.

It's good that you are doing a background study for yourself as none of us has really mentioned about dong that. Thumbs up Maria! Indeed, you are going to have a meaningful interview!

If you could add more about the goals or what you really want to know through the interview, that will be a perfect example of interview objectives!
ReplyDeleteYou right going off the topic will help your interviewee to take a break from that question and talk a different subject and that will help you to make it an intersting interview not a boring one. good job
ReplyDeleteVery clear and specific objectives. Good job!
ReplyDeletei like 8, That would make it fun for them!
ReplyDeleteI like that your objectives are in order. I like number 6, beginning with easier questions will help the interviewee feel more comfortable for sure.
ReplyDeletei like how you can expand and go off topic, could bring up some interesting points
ReplyDeletelooks good they go into detail which will help the international student when i comes to answering the questions
ReplyDeleteI think that number 6 is going to be one of your most important objectives because the fact that you are trying to accommodate for them will make them feel more comfortable. You are headed down the right path.
ReplyDeletewell...your objectives seem to emphasize on your manners in the conversation. I think your might need to talk more about your questions themselves, and how you feel about the cultures.
ReplyDeleteGood objectives, you are definitely on the right path. You may want to include some details on what you want to get out of the interview though, such as what you want to learn about the interviewee and his/her native country.
ReplyDeleteawesome questions, very specific and accurate on what you should do at the interview.
ReplyDeleteIt is always good to study before meeting the interviewee. Nice work! :D Hope you make good friends!
ReplyDeleteGood questions, will make for a successful interview.
ReplyDeleteWell written objectives, these should make for a successful interview!
ReplyDeleteThese objectives are AWESOME! Great job! I especially like #9. You are definitely set up to conduct a successful interview!
ReplyDeleteindeed we need to talk slow since they international students. They may not understand some of the questions and you may want to explain to them.
ReplyDeleteVery detailed objectives. I like #9 that we shouldn't limit the conversation with written down questions. Sometimes, international student does not mean you have to speak slow or anything it just depends on the individual interviewee.
